Each child regardless of their race, gender or other factors goes through these stages. While the children proceed these stages in diverse rates, there is a proximity in the rates except for highly intelligent kids and those that are artistic. What’s more, it is easy for the one to learn a lot of the child’s emotional and social abilities through their art. It is also important to note that one cannot hasten any stage. The next article, The Stages of Artistic Development by Matt Fussell, highlights how it is important for art teachers to understand the different stages of artistic development. The scribble stage between ages 1 and 3, is one where children mostly participate in the physical act of drawing.
