This process determines how the children turn out in future. Some researchers argue that biological influences play a key role in parenting (Jensen et al. 275). For example, a child who is adopted is likely to have the personality of their biological parents. Others argue that parenting is not solely responsible for the development of a child (Jensen et al. 275). Other factors like peer relationships affect the development of the child. My parents adopted the authoritative type of parenting. This method was carried down from my grand parents, who raised my parents the same way. This type of parenting emphasizes on parental rules. Therefore, the parent in this case has full authority (Yeung et al. 1980). In some cases, this parenting was unfair since children could not raise their opinions if they felt that the parents were wrong.In my parents case, every child was expected to follow certain basic rules and if they were not followed, the child would undergo punishment. Additionally, in some cases, my
