Interaction between Nurse Informaticists and Other SpecialistsNature has numerous illustrations of collaboration and specialization. As specialists in the collection, evaluation, and application of information, nurse informaticists collaborate with specialists constantly so as to guarantee that correct information is available to make choices and take necessary actions in ensuring the overall wellbeing of patients (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2017). Within my healthcare organization, I have observed how data or technology specialists and/or nurse informaticists interact with other experts. For instance, I have observed how nurses use their wisdom to determine the most suitable plan for addressing a patient’s illness. Some patients, say diabetic, may not have a personal history with the illness and may also be quite young in age. It is here that a nurse can discuss a few lifestyle interventions to help such patients manage their glucose levels (Laureate Education, 2018). If the glucose levels are still not within normal range after 6 months, nurses and physicians consider alternative medication and treatment. Here, the flow from data to information, information to knowledge, and knowledge to wisdom is exhibited (Glassman, 2017). The scenarios I have observed are a demonstration of how nurses apply the continuum in their daily practices and
