APRN Board of Nursing RegulationEvery state in America including US territories has a board of nursing (BON). The board of nursing help protect the public health by regulating and governing the nursing practice(NCSBN, 2020).While all boards of nursing in America are members of the National Council of State of Nursing (NCSBN), an umbrella body for nursing regulation, they have regulations that are unique to their states. Coming from the state of Nebraska, the APRN nursing regulations does not apply to all licensed advanced practices. Rather, some requirements are unique to certain license category. One regulation focuses on Clinical Nurse Specialists which requires them to have a minimum of master’s degree in nursing specialty(Nursing Licensure, 2020a). A doctoral degree in nursing specialty is highly recommended(Nursing Licensure, 2020a). Other nurses who want to practice clinical nursing must have at least a master’s degree in nursing and a post-master’s certification in nursing specialty. On renewal of APRN, nurses in Nebraska are required to renew every two years(Nursing Licensure, 2020a). In comparison, Clinical Nursing Specialists in Florida must have at least a master’s degree in nursing and a national certificate. An exemption is made to nurses who have nursing specialty that lack recognized
