Court Issues Analysis Jamie Jordan CJA/394 November 18, 2013 Hollis Severns In this paper I will describe what the role and the purposes of the court are and define the dual court system. In addition, I will discuss the current and future issues facing courts and court administrators today. Furthermore, I will discuss future management issues and trends regarding language interpretation services as well as assess the past, present, and future impact that victim rights laws have on court proceedings. A court is an agency or unit of the judicial branch of government, authorized or established by statute or constitution, and consisting of one or more judicial officers, which has the authority to decide upon cases, controversies in law, and disputed matters of fact brought before it (Siegel, p. 61, 2011). The United States courts system is separated into two distinct systems these are the state courts and the federal courts. Both the state and federal courts are self governing of the decision making with in the legislative branches inside government. These two court systems developed along side of one another therefore they started to work exclusively in certain parts of jurisdiction where other parts would overlap in other areas.
