I read the book years ago because it was introduced to me as a thriller and I enjoy reading thrillers, and viewing it through a sociological perspective. I re-watched the film and pulled the book off my book shelf. The Fight Club is perceived as a depiction of the present day society. A bit about the narrator, is he suffers from insomnia and chronic depression. A therapy he chooses to attend numerous support groups for conditions he truly does not have such as cancer support groups.
