Organization model refers to the frame work of the organization which includes line of authority, communication, resource allocations and duties. The model of the organization is driven by the goals of the business and defines the way via which business activities are carried out. There are several types of organization models like functional, hierarchical, matrix, and product based. Let us take an example of the manufacturing unit, I am familiar with. The unit had the functional organizational model, where all the employees were divided in several departments according to the skills and job responsibilities. These employees were divided into departments like accounts, human resource, production, quality control, marketing, merchandising, MIS, shipping, etc, where each of the department had the separate objective and each objective aims at achieving the mission and vision of the organization.
