I have family in San Diego, and my father is from Australia.I have only been to San Diego once, and didn't really get to appreciate all you have described. My uncle and his family have lived there for several years and seem to love it. I hear the weather is perfect.Australia is a beautiful place. I went in 1994, and dream of going back. My family lives in Tasmania, and they visit the states often. My aunt lives near the ocean and can see it from her back deck. She is always complementing Burnie (where she lives), and would love to have all of us move there, if possible.I completely understand having family close. I am dealing with a similar situation now. I have lived away from my mom and dad, and my brother and his family for almost 14 years now. It has really taken a toll on me and I am considering a move to Corvallis, Oregon to be near them.
