Discussion board 10.1I have come to realise that Facebook, Email, twitter and other social communication channels have become an increasingly central part of communication in the last decade. This trend is continuing and online communities now carry a strong and influential voice. There is much to be gained by engaging directly with people in electronic communications. These channels have only come into existence in the recent past and no one can claim to be an expert in this. It is for the individual user to learn how best to navigate in such a fast-paced and evolving digital environment and engage to reach journal readers, network with colleagues and consult with clients. As a professional counsellor I, can benefit from these communication channels through focus groups, online interviews, surveys and twitter party.Some sources seem to indicate that although Facebook is the most popular channel in focus by younger audiences. However, the younger generation are increasingly switching of from this platform and opting for more visual channels such as Instagram and Pin interest.
