An example of a reform movement formed during the period is the Colonization Movement. It was created by the American Colonization Society referred to as ACS (Corbett, et al., 2021). The Movement was based on the notion that it was almost impossible for the blacks and the whites to coexist as equals. The Colonization Movement later was changed to the Abolition Movement which employed more social and radical approaches by making it public the atrocities committed.
