Qualitative research is the collection of a variety of empirical materials such as case studies, personal experience, interviews, observations, and visual texts that describe routine and problematic moments and meanings in individuals’ lives (Jacobsen, 2020). It gathers and interprets non-numerical data. Quantitative research utilizes numerical and measurable data. For example, experiments, questionnaires, surveys, and database reports (Jacobsen, 2020). Quantitative and qualitative research methods tend to be confused; however, they are different and unique in their own way.Qualitative research focuses on in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observations, and unstructured methods to explore perception, themes, patterns, and formulate theories (Jacobsen, 2020). It’s understanding a research question through the lens of a humanistic or idealist view (Pathak, 2013). It allows the researcher to understand the people’s beliefs, experiences, attitudes, behavior, and interactions. It adds a new element for studies that can’t be measured. Qualitative also has its limitations. For instance, they can be deemed subjective. Another limitation of qualitative research is they tend to test small sample sizes.Quantitative research is structured, hypothesis-driven approaches to gather data to be
