Module 5 Activity: ReflectionIDS 400Southern New Hampshire University 01:56:47 GMT -05:00We had to adhere to certain beliefs and the cultural norms of the time period in which I was reared as a Southern Baptist child. One of the biggest biases that were out there was against gay individuals. I was raised to believe that it was wrong, that you did not associate with them, and if you encountered them, you could get AIDS. Many of the gay community members did not come “out of the closet†due to the repercussions that would happen from losing their family members be it parents, siblings, spouses or their children, to being sent to war, beat up, or even killed (Morris, et. al., 2022). Even though this is the era I was brought up in I personally have not had any biases toward anyone from the LGBTQ+ community. I feel that to each their own I like and associate with people for who they are not what their preference in soulmates is.In my research the one thing that has stood out to me is with as far as society has come toward being more understanding toward the LGBTQ+ community with them
