2-2 Activity: Topic SelectionIDS-400Southern New Hampshire University 03:38:33 GMT -05:00Although gender inequality and wage gaps continue to be a problem for women in the U.S., many are beginning to push themselves in the workplace. Despite a wide gap between wages and equality in the workplace, we are making strides to close it. This topic will be discussed interdisciplinary, and a population relevant to the issue will be discussed.We will examine this issue through an interdisciplinary historical lens considering the struggles women have faced at work since the early 1900s. Most women remained at home and worked around the house. Almost half of the United States' workforce is made up of single African American and white women. The number of women who worked in 1950 was less than one-third of the total workforce but has now increased to almost half. Education posed a major obstacle to women entering the workforce, as they had little educational background or experience. Since 1920, women have been able to vote.
