Founded in 1540, the Jesuits has an established foundation and is now the largest male religious order in the Catholic Church. The USA East Coast Province of the Society of Jesus (the Province or UEA) is assisted by 105 employees who support the organization with advancement, fundraising, operational accounting and finances, oversight of healthcare, organization of spiritual retreats and ministry work, and supporting educational administrations. The UEA spans the entire east coast from New England to Georgia. Although the UEA is not a growing organization, geographic area doubled in July of 2020 secondary to the unification of the Northeast and Maryland Provinces.
