As a consultant this document will outline the suggested plan.Riordan Manufacturing currently uses reward power and legitimate power as their formal power structure and expert power for their personal power structure (Robbins & Judge, 2011). Employees are encouraged to go above their supervisor’s head if the feel that they are not listened to or have other concerns about their supervisor’s decisions. Riordan Manufacturing uses reward power in respect to annual pay raises, excellent employee benefit packages, and employee recognition programs such as an outstanding employee award, an employee suggestion program, and seniority awards. The teams themselves are self-directed, which allows greater freedom on team decisions because they do not have to run to a supervisor for approval of every decision they make.
