Allyship With The Lgbtq Community

Student’s Name:Professor’s Name”Course: Date:Allyship with the LGBTQ CommunityI would like to become an ally of the LGBTQ community. I believe that the best way to support this community is through emotional support. The LGBTQ community often faces stigmatization due to their sexual orientation and preferences. Individuals in this community are described as “abnormal” or “unnatural”. Across the traditional and modern media, the LGBTQ community is subjected to homophobic slurs among other demeaning terms. As such, certain individuals conceal this identity to avoid facing stigmatization. In this regard, my allyship’s foundation is to support the mentioned community emotionally.Firstly, I will do this by establishing a support group for my friends in the LGBTQ community. The group will hold meetings to share experiences, and encourage each other. I would also work along with therapists in my community, who can offer to counsel members that have undergone extreme cases of abuse due to stigmatization. Another important activity within this support group is to mobilize our immediate community to let people decide on sexuality. There are many members of the community that oppose the present community due to cultural and religious beliefs. The aforementioned have certain beliefs, including the fact that a gay
