Law enforcement works hand-in-hand with other components of criminal justice such as courts, correction facilities, and police departments (Moore, 1998). The three components oversee apprehension, investigation, and administration of criminals. In major metropolitans such as Las Vegas, law enforcement initiatives are of particular interest. In particular, such initiatives help in the implementation of criminal justice policies. This paper analyzes how law enforcement initiatives have been able to provide solutions to major community problems. Lack of good relationship between law enforcement agencies and the public has been a major hindrance to the implementation of law and order. In most cases, there is a form of antagonism or mistrust between the police and the citizens. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified this as a major problem and cause of hindrance to policing activities.
