Being born in Ghana I, from my very childhood gradually started realizing that like any other country of the world my homeland has its own unique set of values, customs, priorities, and norms that compose the social markers for success and failure. And I did realize that this country is in much need of diligent, honest, and dedicated medical practitioners to help the populace survive all the harshness that life usually offers to them. In my twenty two years of life I did have myriad of personal experiences and observations through which I realized the deteriorating social conditions in the developing/third world countries. I gradually got to know about the devastating nature of drug abuses and addictions and did witness numerous cases in my hometown where lives were being sacrificed at the altar of drug addictions. I can also realize that how pathetically the abusive behaviors of drug abusers can affect the lives of their family members specifically and the members of the society in general.
