Name:Instructor:Course:Date:Personal Essay: Importance of FamilyWhen I was growing up back then, I did not know the meaning and importance of family in a person’s life. I was therefore, agitated and disgruntled when my parents used to take us to visit relatives, and sometimes send us away for months to my grandparents place. As seven year-old I definitely did not see any value in the visits. I always thought our parents never wanted to have us around, sometimes, and they therefore send us to other people, so that they could care for us. I remember during a typical traveling day to a distance relative was characterized with wailing and running around. Personally I never wanted to leave my home and go spent time with grandparents and cousins. I found it awkward, when my mum insisted that family is important and that children should learn to integrate with extended family at an early age. Despite her taking time and explaining the whole issue of family and its importance to a person, I still did not buy into her story. Every time the school holiday approached, my mind could be occupied with moving away from home and going to mingle with my
