It focuses specifically on Chinese and Euro-Canadians, going on to discuss what occurred in response to COVID in specific areas of the world. It also discusses the 3 aspects of optimism, well-being, and meaning in life in terms of different cultures and what it means there. In this particular study there are four different hypotheses or predictions being looked at; chinese participants should have higher state optimism than Euro-Canadian participants, Chinese participants would report better psychological well-being and higher meaning in life than Euro-Chinese participants, state optimism may predict psychological well-being and meaning in life, and state optimism may mediate
