Cultural Activity: Museum VisitName:Course:Institution Affiliation:Date:MuseumIt was a Friday mid-morning, when I embarked on the journey to Vermont Avenue 10th St. U Street in Washington D.C. the mid-morning journey would lead me to the famous African American Civil War Memorial museum. In the museum, one meets with the poignant rich history of the black –Americans and their contribution in the civil war. The images in the museums captures the ancient period of 15th century, where Africans in the United States came in as slaves. The walking area in the memorial to the African-American soldiers and sailors brings a refreshing memory of the relationship between white people and black people (Vorenberg 2010). As I engrossed myself in analyzing various pieces of art and the information shared by the guide, I took notice of two significant pieces. The pieces are the most striking in the memorial African-American Museum. The sculpture of “The Spirit of Freedom” and the Plague in the museum that carried what I would call as the summary of the African-Americans in the Civil War (Lemann 2007).I have always wanted to acquaint myself
