Our forefathers did not easily come by the decisions that lead to the formation of the U.S. Constitution; each decision required each delegate to make compromises tounite a divided, new country. Americans are not only governed by the laws of the U.S. Constitution but are also unified by these laws. It is through compromise that our forefathers were able to build a strong constitution that would shape our future for centuries to come. The diaries from two of our founding fathers, The Journal of the Constitutional Convention 1787 by James Madison and The Journal of the Convention 1787 by John Adams, will be used to support the events
