Gia, It's a bit of a tricky case. I would say Gia was in the action stage because she checked herself into treatment and, when she got out, decided that she was done with her modeling career and got a job at a retail store. Shortly after Gia got out of rehab, she was diagnosed with aids. Soon after, she seemed to step back to the pre-contemplation stage, and she went to get some drugs to kill herself with but ended up getting beaten down and raped. Gia Was hospitalized, and from there, she never left. Her aids progressed, and she died in the hospital. I think Gia may have benefited from motivational interviewing if the situation had been
