Admission College Essay 2Liberty University and I have one thing in common- passion in community service. My knowledge in the community services has enabled me to learn that joy in US Virgin Islands is more than just impermanent happiness. I remember at one time walking around one of the communities in the US Virgin Islands carrying a bag of rice worth ten pounds prepared to offer it to a hungry family. I came along a hut with a dirt floor and unstable walls expecting of around four. Surprisingly, a mixed family of approximately ten people is the one that welcomed me. One of the women approached me with a hug and a toothless, catching smile. During our conversation, I questioned her about her cause of happiness, and her reply was: "I am joyful because I know Jesus loves me." I was humbled and speechless realizing that I live a better life than this woman, but there are days which I cannot find a reason to have joy. Thus, Christianity is the secret of being satisfied whatever the situation.The mission statement for Liberty University is this: “To nurture Christ-centered leaders with skills, knowledge, and values necessary to influence the world."
