This article aims at reviewing the methodological foundation, which is based on the empirical quantitative studies undertaken to assess the training and organizational performance relationship. This review was performed by making a content review of 217 articles published in a reputable journal. The authors highlight that the time is due for revamping methodological endeavors to facilitate an enhanced understanding of the relationship that exists between training and organization performance. In their article, Garavan et al. (2019) make recommendations that will facilitate the development of methodological rigor, assisting researchers in making inferences on causality, as well as improving the decision-making process in HR.
