As a result of the rapid development of technology, many people who learn a second language use technology because it is cheaper and available in most parts of the world unlike the conventional class. On the other hand, some analysts believe that, when computers become a basic requirement for learning a second language, there is a great potential of causing unfair educational conditions for those poor schools or students because many low income students cannot afford the technology, and therefore negatively affecting learning. Others also claim that the computer software used to assist students to learn a new language are still imperfect and therefore unreliable. However, in my opinion, I believe that the use of technology is an effective means to learn a new language. Technology can be an important tool in enabling students who cannot interact directly with native speakers due to the limitation of distance, to test their skills.
