He calls it a fine art born to take you wherever you wanted to go. By this, the author implies that blues was a flexible yet inclusive genre of music. As such, it was every American’s song and the music resonated with in happiness or in pain, or whether one was searching for God or was in a brothel. Blues reached to everyone’s soul. It incorporated the different kinds of instruments such as guitars, the fiddles, piano, and brass instruments. Furthermore, its origin was unclear. Its inclusive nature must have influenced the big band era, as the bands were large and inclusive, consisting of people from different ethnicities and consisting of a variety of instruments.
