The authors suggest that the future of robotics is in specialised fields single task or subtask rather than multi-purpose deployment. Through analysis of numerous branches of modern-day robotics, the authors come to the conclusion that the robotics technology that is likely to play a significant role in the future is in the areas of entertainment, health care and autonomous vehicles.
