Corporate social responsibility is an accepted practice in majority of the western societies. However, it is not a priority in some nations, particularly in poor ones. The case study shows that Nike, as an organization, has greatly neglected its workers in its Indonesian factory. It also displays poor business ethics practices and unfortunately, the company’s CEO is not even concerned with the plight of the employees (TeamSweat, 2011). The case study presented indicates that Nike does not comply with the minimum labor standards or willing to improve employee working conditions. Given that the Indonesian Nike factory workers earn a mere $1.75, it is barely something that can sustain their basic needs (Brown, 2014).
