Carbon FootprintA carbon footprint is defined by the total amount of emissions caused by an individual, product,or organization and is measured in terms of carbon dioxide rate.Greenhouse gases are normally emitted in the course of production and consumption of food, roads, manufactured goods, fuel, and transportation. My carbon footprint can be explained in terms of food consumption and transportation. I consume a lot of fast food on my way to the marching band. Fast food joints have been under fire recently, because of their inability to regulate their suppliers over their carbon footprint. The fast-food industry worth over 750 Billion dollars has created some of the largest carbon footprints in the world. Most fast foodmenus include meat, and the rearing of livestock for consumption has led to a lot of carbon emissions, and consequentiallyclimate change. The rearing, packaging, and transportation of livestock and its products contribute a lot to environmental damage. Greenhouse emissions increase the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which is not desirable. It is therefore advisable to consume food that is less rich in meat or dairy so as to reduce one’s carbon footprint. My use of a personal vehicle while attending school, and going to Ann Arbor for
