The fight involved locking heads with radical networks of terrorists as well as governments that supports them. Twelve years later, US President Barrack Obama stated that the war on terror had ended, instead preferring to focus on certain groups that wanted to destroy the great nation. However, more terror activities recently led to the creation of the Operation Inherent Resolve. Ending the war on terror and the making of the Operation Inherent Resolve suggests that combating terror has been fruitless, which is why the government keeps adopting different strategies in the attempt to approach the issue differently. This clear manifestation of failure leads to the question as to what the government can do to eradicate or reduce the high rates of terrorism. In an attempt to combat terrorism, the essay proposes that the criminal justice system restructure the current state of prisons and align them with different rehabilitative goals in order to prevent the making of more severe criminals, as a result of incarceration, by the current prison correctional facilitates.
