The general topic was interesting, and what surprised me the most was the way reflective essay is generated. Most of the course content this week focused on the article ‘Thinking on Paper’ by Sarah Montante which was our major resource. I did not perceive reflective essay to be in form of the authors view. Personally, I had made assumptions that reflective essay are just forms of essay that only focuses on the reflection of one’s experiences. However, Montante views it in another angle which she calls it thinking on paper as the article title suggests. Reading the title of the article did not make any sense to me at first proving the old adage that a book can never be judged by the cover. After critical scrutiny and analysis of the content, I managed to get a clear view and perception of the author. According to my own understanding, the content of the resource simply provides the ways in which a reflective paper can be written. In writing the reflective essay requires an occasion to be chosen.
