Week 1: Flowchart Improvement ProcessOPS/571Institutional affiliationExecutive summaryAs-is process flowchart Improved process flowchart Flowchart Improvement ProcessBusiness process reengineering is an important part of the lean and six-sigma with the aim of eliminating non-value adding processes and adding value adding processes (LUCA, 2014). Processes documentation enables employees and managers to understand the processes and plan on improvement. Documentation can be in the form of step by step instruction or a flow chart. Flowchart is a diagrammatic representation of the process for easy visualization. Value is determined by the time taken to produce the product, the amount of products produced within a given time, the quality of the output and the cost of producing the output. The business produces burgers and pizzas, and deliver them to customers. The customer makes an order by phone. The attendant enters the size of the pizza or burger address and contacts information. If the product is available, the attendant sends the customer an SMS informing him/her of when the product will be delivered. If the product is not available, the attendant confirms with the storekeeper if the ingredients are available.
