Flowchart Improvement Process Name Course Tutors Name Date Flowchart Improvement Process This summary describes the process improvement process for new client in clinical care. The flow chart diagram depicts the as is process for receiving a new client by clinical care coordinator The metrics for this process are waiting time before placement on a program and variability of waiting time. If a client has to wait for a week to be allocated to a clinical care coordinator and another two weeks to start their program they will base their satisfaction level on not only the waiting time but also on the variability and unpredictability of the process. The metrics or measuring the system are predictability and the length of waiting times (De Koning, Verver, van den Heuvel, Bisgaard, Does, 2006). The current system has an average wait period of 2 weeks between referral and allocation to a clinical care coordinator. Allocation based on intake rooster is done once a week therefore some patients wait for seven days and others wait for one day, therefore the process is variable and unpredictable. The process improvement methodology chosen for improving the process is the Lean Six Sigma Kaizen philosophy that emphasizes onsmall incremental
