Introduction Wal-Mart is the worlds largest retailer with annual sales of 405 billion in 2010. It operates 8692 retail outlets in 15 countries across the world (Wal-Mart 2010). The company was founded by Sam Walton in 1962, and ever since then the company continues to imbibe the same basic values proposed by the founder. One of the core beliefs of Wal-Mart is the Respect for Individual. This means that although Wal-Mart is an organization that employs people from different backgrounds, gender, race, cast and nationalities, differing in their personal beliefs and thoughts, however the company listens to everyone and treats them with respect and dignity. The company also has a open door policy that aims to bridge the communication gap between the management and the associates. The associate can look up to the managers to give an unbiased opinion in order to resolve any issues. Then Wal-Mart also has a guiding ethics policy that clearly enunciates that Wal-Mart will not engage in any discriminatory treatment towards anyone, respect diversity, follow the law at all times, bring transparency and honesty in the conducts of business (Wal-Mart 2010) All the above values, beliefs and principles apply to all its stakeholders which consist
