Various dispositions in individuals appear in diverse circumstances, an important explanation why people act in predictable ways in many different settings in life. These theories further state that each person has a different set of characters of varying strengths, an explanation why different individuals in life portray unique patterns of behavior. Dispositional theories comprises of two theories namely, type theories, and trait theories. Evolutionary theory on the other hand examines how individual personality differences are- based on a natural selection (Feist & Gregory 2009). Through natural selection, organisms change over time through adaptations and selections. Behaviors in individuals according to evolutionary theory are- developed in relation with certain genes that come forth based on an organism’s environment and these behaviors help an organism’s survival and reproduction.
