The Muslim Americans have been on the receiving end of the situation. Currently, the rate of unemployment stands at 4% of the Muslim community. The employers view the whole Muslim fraternity as being responsible for the attacks hence avoiding Muslim employees. The article introduces a new term referred as Islamophobia. The stereotypes associate Muslim people in the country with the same aggression witnessed in the famous attacks. The employers give preference to locals without any affiliation to the Muslim community. Wearing the Muslim attire attracts prejudice from the locals as well as potential employers. The article dictates how Muslim Americans suffer in the effort of securing employment in the country. For those that get a job, the terms and conditions at work are very strenuous. Jamil points out long working hours and poor pay characterize the harassment experienced by at workplaces.
