High Health Care CostThe cost of healthcare has continuously risen over the years. This has affected the healthcare affordability as many people cannot afford healthcare service. The rising cost of healthcare has affected the cost of prescription drugs and insurance (Bloom &Leveno, 2017). The high cost of health care has left many people vulnerable. In relation to my work setting, the high cost of health care can significantly affect how we operate and relate to patients. The hospital receives increasing number of patients every day. Most of the patients are usually not able to afford the costs of the health care. That creates a dilemma where the management of the hospital has to decide on whether to treat the patients or simply provide preservative or first aid care.The major issue that the hospital faces is on the party that will take the cost responsibility (Casey et al., 2017). The hospital has its own operational costs that include salaries for the workers. When most of the patients are unable to pay for the health care services, the hospital will not be able to remain sustainable.
