These standards were created in an effort to add an additional layer of protection to cardholder sensitive information like names, card numbers, security codes, and expiration dates. PCI DSS has since been updated many times over the years to keep up with evolving privacy concerns.Fertilizer Plus is now looking at instituting a POS system that will accept credit card payments for their products and services. Because of this, Fertilizer Plus will now need to ensure compliance with the standards set by PCI DSS or they could face severe consequences.
