Project Milestone OneSouthern New Hampshire UniversityOL-330-H1663 02:21:39 GMT -05:00Rising Stars Tutoring Center in Greensboro, North Carolina has noticed that there is a trend of students scoring lower than previous years on reading levels. While many of them are on track to be reading on grade level, the trend is showing that the students are becoming more illiterate as the years go on. This trend was compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the students that struggle to read are those that live below the poverty level and are of theminority races (National Center for Education Statistics, 2023). It is also known that if a student cannot read, then they will not be successful in other classes that rely heavily on reading. We would like to address this by providing free tutoring services to students regardless of theirability to pay. This will be called Rising Tutoring as we want to raise the students up from where they are and help them become successful. Students want to learn. They soak up information like a sponge. The tutoring program will provide students with the skills that they need to be successful now and in the future. We will partner with
