Capnography Waveform {Ans: }Drug Overdose/ Poisoning {Ans: - obtain following information: - type of poison/ medication - type of exposure - time of exposure - amount of poison exposure - time of last food and alcohol intake - patient weight - remove patient from the source of contamination and decontaminate if necessary - gather containers or remaining medication to show the hospital - if injected poison (i.e. bites, stings, open wound contamination, etc.) apply venous constricting band above the site of injection on an extremity to keep it below heart level. Scrape away stingers- do not squeeze them - if inhaled poison, administer high-flow oxygen - if button battery ingested, give 10 ml of honey every 10 minutes (do not give to patients under 12 months old)}Pain Management {Ans: - place in position of comfort - for mild pain: - administer 650 mg po acetaminophen (Tylenol) to patients > 15 and over 110 lbs once - administer 10 mg/kg acetaminophen to patients who are older than 6 months old and able to take po meds - contraindications: - allergy to acetaminophen - history of liver dysfunction - active vomiting - acetaminophen use within last 4 hours}Chest Pain
