The fourth week dealt with the issue of various diversity characteristics including the visible and invisible ones. Also, the effects of various diversity characteristics on the work experience have been discussed. Firstly, the visible characteristics were termed as the ones that can be openly seen including gender, age, and race. The invisible ones include personalities, sexual orientation, work experience, marital status, and religion among others. I have learned that despite these differences being important considerations in the workforce, they all have effects on a person’s work experience. This information changed my perception of the issue of the effects of employee diversity as some may be negatively affected by their unique characteristics. This information will greatly help me in my career I would be appreciating every employee's unique characteristic and ensure that it does not make him uncomfortable in the workplace. The necessity for avoiding any type of discrimination among employees has also been discussed and this can greatly help in my career. I have a positive reaction to this information as appreciating differences rather than criticizing them could lead to the best workplace and employee experience.
