The followers of both Islam and Christianity have been met by persecution as a direct result of their faith. This persecution has resulted in the deaths of millions of people. However, there are also many births attributed to both religions. Jesus and Muhammad were, and continue to be, the two most influential figures in Christianity and Islam respectively. Both of which were subject to extreme hardships and persecution. Todays followers of these religions continue to meet the same hardships and persecution they faced so many years ago.
