The society we live in is an amalgamation of varied cultures. Wherever there is human interaction, conflict is bound to be born. Generally, these conflicts occur due to cultural differences. Sometimes, when two people or two groups from diverse cultural backgrounds come in contact to achieve an objective, their interests may come against each others. Conflicting interests may also bring incompatibility and inconsistency in relationships. Conflicts generally occur due to incompatibility of goals or different interpretation of facts. Whenever a conflict takes place, it should be managed actively. There can be other issues behind conflict management behind those already mentioned. These issues can be performance review related, discrimination related or between a manager and subordinate. In such cases there is a need to understand the perspective of both he parties to resolve the conflict. Here I will cite an example of conflict which I have come across. The cause of the conflict was performance review related and it had originated because of the employee receiving a negative feedback related to his performance.
