Soc 402 Betty Is A High Producing Employee

In my viewpoint her behavior was not unethical as she is a devoted and high producing employee who give her work so much of importance that when her job demands she stays back for long hour to finish it up. Moreover no one is perfect so if she arrived late one day because of oversleeping doesnt make her incompetent and careless. Its a general tendency of human that if they are guilty for some of their act they make excuses, so her making excuse was not at all unethical as she was afraid of getting into bad books of her boss. It is said that a person learn more from consequences because it is more logical and promote responsibility than punishment which she might have received in the form of complaint against her or scolding from boss and that would have casted a negative image of her boss or organization on her mind which will increase her sense of discomfort and will show a rapid decline in her productivity.
