This Decree was an initial step towards developing an entity that could respond to the growing banking sector in Oman.In 1998, the institute's purpose was linked to the decision to name the institute as the Institute of Banking and Financial Studies by Royal Decree No. 83/98. This evolution was beset with the broader aim of incorporating a wider range of financial studies into the curriculum that aligned with the demands of the financial industry.The most impressive change was in 2004 when Royal Decree No. 12/1/2004 started the journey to the College of Banking and Financial Studies.
