VoIP Defender Name Institution VoIP Defender Summary VoIP has become more popular than any other telephony services. Its popularity has made it susceptible to security threats like hacking and the use of the service for distribution of spam by unscrupulous individuals. This paper is on a generic security system (VoIP defender) that examines senses, evaluates and responds to any attacks to the VoIP system. VoIP defender examines the traffic flow between SIP servers, users and proxies. This analysis will show that the VoIP defender is scalable, can evaluate traffic in actual time and expand with the inclusion on new algorithms. This security solution was designed with the aim of ensuring that the system can enlarge to accommodate any growth that takes place. This paper also examines the various researches that have been proposed to deal with VoIP security concerns like research by Schlegel et al only deals with spam protection though these works were not comprehensive.
