Human beings are most intelligent and their activities such as eating them, testing the drugs harm the animals. The willful harm done to the animals is morally incorrect, not because of any kind of intrinsic rights of animals but because these acts causes pain and even kill the animals which are ethically wrong. This ethical and moral obligation cannot give rise to any kind of legal obligation to animals in terms of treatment. But there have been conflicting views. For instance, when we take testing of drugs into consideration so as to prevent the endangered species, testing the drugs is ethical but when we talk of eating them is unethical. So, the current law seems inconsistent. Moreover, animals are held as capable of experiencing pain and cognition when it comes to law against cruelty and bestiality but they are not protected from being eaten. Killing and eating animals is also morally wrong because these are also the living creatures and killing them is considered as killing human beings.
