Exposure to hazardous substances in the environment causes the negative impact on the development of the child right from the beginning. There are several environmental factors which affect the prenatal development, such as smoking, drinking, obesity, diabetes, teenage pregnancy, stress, disease, poor nutrition, etc. For instance, exposure to phthalates during pregnancy results in hypospadias, or deformation of penis. If I would have given the chance of publicizing, I would have chosen smoking and drinking abuse also referred as alcohol and drug abuse. This is an important topic as it affects the growth of the fetus right from the mother’s womb. The campaign will constitute of:Difference between active and passive smoking of the mother, which affects the kidney and lungs of the fetus right from the beginning. It also slows down the process of the development of the child. The fetus may suffer from Fetal Alcohol syndrome which is caused when mother drinks excessive amount of alcohol, during pregnancy. Around 10,000 of the infants annually are born with certain physical and cognitive disabilities which are the result of alcohol drinking habit of mother.
