As such, such theorists evaluate social disorganization based on social and societal factors. The mentioned theory became the foundation for Chicago School’s crime prevention model. In this regard, this paper will address the assumptions and principles of the Chicago school, and analyze my community program.Assumptions And Principles of The Chicago SchoolThe main belief of Chicago school is that poverty does not naturally lead to crime but the social environment of those who are poor could lead to crime (Hopkins, 2014). The aforementioned belief originates from the concept of social disorganization. The present concept associates poor communities with higher crime rates because there are fewer opportunities in such areas. In view of this fact, Chicago School’s model aimed to alter its social environment to avoid these negative effects and ensure these people did not commit crimes (Hopkins, 2014). Secondly, Ernest Burgess, a sociologist from the Chicago School asserted that city expansion causes several patterns of development. He argued that there were several zones
